The Norwegian research network

  In Norwegian Search:
part of name / phone number / e-mail address organization

About this service

This is a service run by UNINETT that lets one search in Norwegian public LDAP servers. This service is based on a service developed at NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Searching

In order to find someone, select institution if necessary, and then enter part of a name, phone number or e-mail address, and click the search button.

If you want to search for an e-mail address you need to include an @. If the search criterion is too general, you may get an error, or just see the first 200 hits.

Search results

After you have completed the search you will get a list of persons showing the name, organizational unit, phone number and e-mail address. By clicking on a name you will get more detailed information on that person. It's possible to choose what information to display in the list by selecting from the boxes that show the label names.

Example

You wish to look up someone named tux something at UNINETT, and you would also like to see what the individual looks like. To do this, you enter tux, select UNINETT and click the search button. You should then get at least one hit. Click on the name to get the details.
